About Me

Hi, I'm Ayesha.

And I think you and I have more in common than you know.

I'm a working professional, a wife, and a mum. And for a long time, I was doing all three brilliantly...for everyone else, while quietly falling apart on the inside.

Sound familiar?

I'm Pakistani, and I grew up straddling two worlds, the one my parents carried with them, rich with culture, love, and expectation, and the one I was trying to build for myself. I know what it feels like to smile through a comment at a family dinner that cuts right through you. To feel guilty for wanting more. To lie awake wondering if you're a good enough daughter, wife, mother, while nobody thinks to ask if you're okay.

I know it's not just a Pakistani thing.

Whether you're Bangladeshi, Indian, Gujarati, Punjabi, Sikh, Tamil, Sri Lankan ; or anything in between,we share something that runs deeper than our differences. The weight of expectation. The beauty of our cultures. The chai that fixes everything and the aunties that don't. The way we love fiercely and sacrifice quietly. The way we hold everyone else together while quietly coming undone ourselves.

Nobody talks about that part. So I decided to. And I knew I didn't want to do it through a screen.

We're surrounded by content - AI-generated, algorithm-driven, endlessly scrollable. It's loud and it's fast and somehow, despite all of it, it still leaves you feeling unseen. I wanted to create something that was the opposite of that. Something real. Something human. Something that couldn't be faked or automated or optimised.

There is nothing quite like the intimacy of opening a letter written just for you. Not a notification. Not a caption. A letter- held in someone's hands before it was held in yours, with words chosen carefully, with you in mind. That quiet moment of unfolding something and feeling, oh -someone actually gets it. That's what I wanted to give you.

I started The Brown Girl Club because I needed it. I needed something that saw all of me... not just the professional me, not just the mum me, not just the good daughter me... but the complicated, exhausted, hopeful, still-figuring-it-out desi me.

So every month, I sit down and I write you a letter. A real one. About the things we whisper about but rarely say out loud — marriage and in-laws, identity and belonging, guilt and boundaries, loneliness, ambition, and finding your way back to yourself. I tuck in a chai sachet, a recipe from a desi mum's kitchen, a gentle reflection prompt, and a few small surprises.

It's not a product. It's a moment. A monthly reminder that lands on your doormat and says: you are not alone, you are not too much, and you deserve something just for you.

I'm so glad you found us. 💌

About The Brown Girl Club

What is The Brown Girl Club?

The Brown Girl Club is a monthly snail mail subscription created for South Asian women.

Each month, you’ll receive a thoughtfully curated envelope through your letterbox — including a personal letter, a chai moment, and small comforting extras designed to help you slow down and feel seen.

Why was The Brown Girl Club created?

I created The Brown Girl Club because I needed it myself.

As a South Asian woman, I often felt like my struggles didn’t fully belong anywhere — too “desi” to explain to others, but too personal to talk about openly.

This is a space where you don’t have to explain yourself.

You’re just understood.

What makes this different?

In a world full of content and scrolling, this is something physical. Personal.

It’s not just a letter — it’s a moment.

A quiet pause in your month where you can sit down, make a chai, and feel like someone truly gets what you’re going through.

What will I receive each month?

Each month, you’ll receive:

• A heartfelt personal letter based on the theme of the month

• A chai sachet to enjoy while you read

• A reflection prompt or affirmation card

• A small surprise item (bookmark, sticker, etc.)

Everything is designed to feel comforting, personal, and intentional.

What themes are explored in the monthly dispatches?

Each month, we explore a different theme — the kind of things we don’t always say out loud.

From navigating marriage and in-laws…

to identity, guilt, burnout, and finding yourself again.

Some months will feel comforting.

Some might hit a little deeper.

But every letter is written to make you feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.

Subscription Information

How does The Brown Girl Club subscription work?

When you subscribe, you’ll receive a new Brown Girl Club letter every month.

You’ll be billed monthly, and your spot is reserved for each upcoming drop.

When will I be charged?

You’ll be charged when you first subscribe, and then once a month after that.

This secures your place in each monthly drop so you don’t miss out.

When will I receive my first letter?

Letters are dispatched around the 22nd of each month.

If you join before the cut-off, you’ll receive that month’s letter.

If you join after, your first delivery will be the following month.

Can I cancel my subscription?

We accept all major payment methods available through our secure Shopify checkout, including major credit and debit cards. You'll see all available options at checkout. 💳

Can I try it without subscribing?

Yes — you can purchase a one-time letter first if you’d like to try it.

It’s a lovely way to experience it before committing to the monthly ritual.

What’s the difference between subscription and one-time?

Subscription
You receive a new letter every month and stay part of the ongoing experience.

One-time purchase
You’ll receive that month’s letter only - no future deliveries.

Most girlies choose the subscription so they don’t miss future themes.

Is there a cut-off date each month?

Yes — each monthly drop has a limited window until the 20th of the month.

Once that month closes, you’ll automatically be moved to the next available letter.

We do this to keep each drop intentional and manageable — so every order is packed with care.

If you’re thinking about joining, it’s best to secure your spot before the 20th of the month.

Who is The Brown Girl Club for?

Who should subscribe to The Brown Girl Club?

The Brown Girl Club is for South Asian women who feel like they’re always holding everything together…
but quietly feel overwhelmed themselves.

If you’re navigating marriage, family expectations, identity, or just feeling a bit lost — this was created for you.

Do I need to be married to relate to this?

Not at all.

While some themes touch on marriage and in-laws, many letters focus on identity, self-worth, emotional overwhelm, and finding your place.

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fully belong anywhere — you’ll relate.

Is this a community or just a product?

It’s both.

While you’ll receive something physical each month, you’re also part of a wider group of women experiencing the same themes, emotions, and moments.

You’re not the only one going through this — and that matters.

Can I gift this to someone?

Yes — this makes a really thoughtful gift.

Whether it’s for a friend, sister, or someone going through a difficult time, it’s a way of saying:

“I see you.”

Suggestions And Feedback

Can I suggest topics?

Of course. This space is as much yours as it is mine.

If there’s something you’ve been carrying, thinking about, or wishing someone would talk about — you can share it here.

Every letter is shaped by the real experiences of women in this community.
