About Me

Hi, I'm Ayesha 🤎

And I created The Brown Girl Club because I missed something I didn't even realise I was losing.

As I got older, life became fuller - but somehow smaller at the same time.

Friends got married. People moved away. Careers became busier. Babies arrived. Group chats became quieter. The women I once saw every week became women I only occasionally checked in on.

And while life kept moving forward, I found myself missing something I'd always taken for granted: community.

The kind of community our mothers and grandmothers seemed to have naturally. The kind where stories were shared over chai, advice was given freely, and you never felt like you were figuring everything out alone.

As South Asian women, we share so many experiences that are hard to explain to anyone outside our culture. The balancing act between tradition and independence. The expectations we place on ourselves. And yet so many of us are navigating it all quietly, often without a space that feels entirely ours.

That's why I started The Brown Girl Club.

Not as a business. Not as another thing to scroll through online. But as a genuine community built around connection.

Every month, I send a beautifully curated piece of mail designed especially for South Asian women. Inside you'll find a heartfelt letter, thoughtful keepsakes, recipes, playlists, reflections and little reminders of home, culture and sisterhood.

It's a chance to pause. To feel seen. To reconnect with yourself and the women walking a similar path.

Most of all, it's a reminder that there are thousands of women just like you — navigating adulthood, identity, family, ambition, relationships and everything in between.

My dream is for The Brown Girl Club to become more than a letter. I want it to become a community of women who feel understood. A space where South Asian women can find comfort, connection, nostalgia, encouragement and friendship. A place that feels a little bit like coming home.

If that sounds like something you've been looking for, I'd love for you to join us.

Love,

Ayesha x

About The Brown Girl Club

What is The Brown Girl Club?

The Brown Girl Club is a monthly snail mail subscription created for South Asian women.

Each month, you’ll receive a thoughtfully curated envelope through your letterbox — including a personal letter, a chai moment, and small comforting extras designed to help you slow down and feel seen.

Why was The Brown Girl Club created?

I created The Brown Girl Club because I needed it myself.

As a South Asian woman, I often felt like my struggles didn’t fully belong anywhere — too “desi” to explain to others, but too personal to talk about openly.

This is a space where you don’t have to explain yourself.

You’re just understood.

What makes this different?

In a world full of content and scrolling, this is something physical. Personal.

It’s not just a letter — it’s a moment.

A quiet pause in your month where you can sit down, make a chai, and feel like someone truly gets what you’re going through.

What will I receive each month?

Each month, you’ll receive:

• A heartfelt personal letter based on the theme of the month

• A chai sachet to enjoy while you read

• A reflection prompt or affirmation card

• A small surprise item (bookmark, sticker, etc.)

Everything is designed to feel comforting, personal, and intentional.

What themes are explored in the monthly dispatches?

Each month, we explore a different theme — the kind of things we don’t always say out loud.

From navigating marriage and in-laws…

to identity, guilt, burnout, and finding yourself again.

Some months will feel comforting.

Some might hit a little deeper.

But every letter is written to make you feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.

Subscription Information

How does The Brown Girl Club subscription work?

When you subscribe, you’ll receive a new Brown Girl Club letter every month.

You’ll be billed monthly, and your spot is reserved for each upcoming drop.

When will I be charged?

You’ll be charged when you first subscribe, and then once a month after that.

This secures your place in each monthly drop so you don’t miss out.

When will I receive my first letter?

Letters are dispatched around the 22nd of each month.

If you join before the cut-off, you’ll receive that month’s letter.

If you join after, your first delivery will be the following month.

Can I cancel my subscription?

We accept all major payment methods available through our secure Shopify checkout, including major credit and debit cards. You'll see all available options at checkout. 💳

Can I try it without subscribing?

Yes — you can purchase a one-time letter first if you’d like to try it.

It’s a lovely way to experience it before committing to the monthly ritual.

What’s the difference between subscription and one-time?

Subscription
You receive a new letter every month and stay part of the ongoing experience.

One-time purchase
You’ll receive that month’s letter only - no future deliveries.

Most girlies choose the subscription so they don’t miss future themes.

Is there a cut-off date each month?

Yes — each monthly drop has a limited window until the 20th of the month.

Once that month closes, you’ll automatically be moved to the next available letter.

We do this to keep each drop intentional and manageable — so every order is packed with care.

If you’re thinking about joining, it’s best to secure your spot before the 20th of the month.

Who is The Brown Girl Club for?

Who should subscribe to The Brown Girl Club?

The Brown Girl Club is for South Asian women who feel like they’re always holding everything together…
but quietly feel overwhelmed themselves.

If you’re navigating marriage, family expectations, identity, or just feeling a bit lost — this was created for you.

Do I need to be married to relate to this?

Not at all.

While some themes touch on marriage and in-laws, many letters focus on identity, self-worth, emotional overwhelm, and finding your place.

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fully belong anywhere — you’ll relate.

Is this a community or just a product?

It’s both.

While you’ll receive something physical each month, you’re also part of a wider group of women experiencing the same themes, emotions, and moments.

You’re not the only one going through this — and that matters.

Can I gift this to someone?

Yes — this makes a really thoughtful gift.

Whether it’s for a friend, sister, or someone going through a difficult time, it’s a way of saying:

“I see you.”

Suggestions And Feedback

Can I suggest topics?

Of course. This space is as much yours as it is mine.

If there’s something you’ve been carrying, thinking about, or wishing someone would talk about — you can share it here.

Every letter is shaped by the real experiences of women in this community.
